Thie food in here is isn't perfect, taste ok but too expensive. I don't like the way they serve customer and we've wait too long to get our food. When we pay our bill, a strange male receptionist ask us for the tips. That's verry irritate me and will never ever come back even I love their food. Good luck

My husband and I decided to stop in during a long drive from South Florida. We love stopping by The Villages from time to time because we really enjoy the atmosphere. The reviews were positive, so we thought we would try it out. The food was delightful! I enjoyed the Panang Beef. The flavors were great. Everything tasted so fresh. The meat was pounded perfectly making for very tender beef. My husband got the chicken fried rice. I have to say that as good as mine was, his was better! The veggies were so perfectly prepared that it was obvious that each item was cooked to order. The rice was seasoned to perfection. There are so many options at The Villages and I really enjoy many if them, but this one is a jewel!

Needed a Thai food fix... Really bad!!!! It's about the only one within a lotta miles and all I have is a golf cart for transportation. So, that said, I got enough of the needed fix to sustain me till I get home. Home they focus on the food improving as they have an opportunity to "own" anyone that loves good Thai. Giving 3 1/2 stars cause they existed in my desperate need.

We have gone several times....I've yet to be disappointed. Their spring roll were great as where our dinners - drunken noodles and pai tai. The staff was very attentive. The decor is very traditional and cravings are beautiful. We have made this one of our monthly outings.

My first visit to Thai Ruby (in The Villages) was better than I expected! The interior is beautiful and clean, and the service was excellent, attention to details exemplary, presentation of food perfect, and the actual meals were amazing. Everything is fresh and cooked when it is ordered. I ordered Pad Thai, and it was the best I've had. We ordered Chicken Panang as an appetizer and for the life of me I can remember the other main dish, but it was ordered 'extra hot' and it was! Dessert was an Iced Coffee... the Thai version of Vietnamese coffee. Perfect! Can't wait to return.

I can't get over why such a wonderful place is not Jamb-packed all the time. I have never waited over 10 minutes even when the Square is inundated with folks. If you're in Thailand you're paying $150 per meal for what they serve in such a beautiful place. The staff is super and they will customize any meal on the menu. I don't get it.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to every time I visit my grandparents in the villages. Yummy food and good prices. Thai iced tea is good their curries are good and they will make things to your liking with no hassle. Lots of little sides you get with your meals soup and egg rolls generally. Service has always been attentive and quick. A gem in the villages.

Our favorite restaurant for lunch. Great lunch prices, good size portions, comes with small soup, crab rangoon and Chinese donuts for dessert. Usually we order the softshell crab but change the sauce to one of the curries. I you want the curry hot, you need to specify, otherwise it comes mild. We've also had the chicken curry and a number of other menu items . . . always very good. But the softshell crab is the best.

I visited Thai Ruby for take-out when staying at a nearby hotel. While street parking is at a premium, there is a large parking lot behind the restaurant. Around 6pm, the dining room was full. I was able to order at the counter and service was friendly. After about 10 minutes of exploring neighboring shops and picking up dessert, I came back to Thai Ruby and my order was ready for me. They did not give me any utensils with my to-go order. Luckily I had picked them up with my dessert. I enjoyed my Pad Thai and would return to Thai Ruby in the future. This is a nice alternative to the many chain restaurants nearby.

Beautiful Thai decor and most foods seem to be made from fresh ingredients. You can definitely order levels of "heat" to your preference. Our party of four ordered four different dishes plus appetizers and enjoyed just about everything. Generous serving sizes at moderate prices. Very friendly and genuinely helpful service. Plus we didn't have to wait for a table during the noon hour even at the height of snowbird season, which is closely akin to a miracle in The Villages! Minor concerns were the fried wontons, which were overcooked and not very good. The ones that came with the soup had little filling or flavor and the ones we had as appetizers were stuffed with some sort of spicy orange squash or pumpkin mixture that none of us cared for very much. Both dipping sauces were lacking in flavor today. At the end of the meal the small donut-like tidbits provided to top off the dining experience were far too reminiscent of canned biscuits that had been cut in half and then fried to resemble donuts but still had the canned biscuit flavor and texture. Other than those small caveats, yes, I would recommend taking your friends and family to Thai Ruby for a generally pleasant and different experience in The Villages.

Good Thai food with great service at good prices. Pad Thai is always a great dish. Spring roll and dumplings are the best.

Great food, great service and nice Sauvignon Blanc. I'd return anytime. Total bill was less than $50 with appetizer and wine.

The first thing you will notice is the beautiful interior with cozy seating arraignments. The menu is more tame than the typical Asian menu and is grouped by meats or seafoods. The service is fast and attentive. We ordered "Crab Rangoons" for our appetizers and was the best we've had and a delicious dipping sauce. My meal was a chicken curry coconut milk dish that was fantastic. My wife had a good Pad-Thai as well. I don't know why this place isn't packed all the time...maybe Thai food hasn't caught on in The Villages yet!

We've recently moved to The Villages and have fallen in love with this restaurant. I ordered the green curry chicken and it was fantastic. My wife had the Pad Thai and said it was the best she's had.

Great service, great ambience and amazing food! I can't believe I haven't been here yet! Right when we came in we were immediately greeted with friendly smiles. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the ambience of the place leaves the impression that it makes a great place for a date or fancy lunch. The food was great and had just the right amount of seasoning and spiciness. The flavor was just perfect. Not to mention food came out very fast!

Took my Mama to lunch while visiting her in The Villages and talked her into trying something different. Neither of us eat Thai but felt comfortable with the reviews. Service, ambiance, decor, and food were all very spectacular! I had pad thai and Mama had a fish lunch special that had some sort of spicy yet sweet red sauce. It was very flavorful, just the right price, and fresh. Wil try again. Server helps provide the right amount of spice and flavor.

Now if this place were in NYC, it'd get three stars from me but here in the Villages it's great! They actually had fresh vegetables and fresh food prepared in a tasty (non fried gator) kind of way - hooray! The tofu and mixed vegetables were perfectly prepared. Veggies cooked to the verge of perfection. And, they have a lovely little drink selection allowing me to have a pleasant Chardonnay with my meal. What pushes their star rating up for me however, is actually having a dedicated "microbiotic section" of the menu - ha! I will definitely be ordering plenty of mAcrobiotic food from them in the future.

Great Thai tastes. We started with the Crab Rangoon which was great ---- a little different with a light curry taste. I had the Tornado Shrimp which was delicious. The curry sauce was outstanding, The only possible thing that could have been better was that the green beans could have been a little more tender. My wife had the shrimp with baby corn and said it was one of the best shrimp dishes ever. Best Thai restaurant in The Villages.

We have been here a couple of times. We love Thai food and consider this restaurant one of the better Thai food restaurants that we have been to. The people are very nice and the service has been great both times. We really love Pad Thai. Their Seafood Pad Thai is to die for. Perfectly prepared sea scallops, shrimp, mussels and octopus. Cooked just right. We RV full time and come here while we're in the area. We would return.

The atmosphere is decent, the staff was friendly but lacked on being attentive. Fish is all frozen, except the salmon. I had soup and Pad Thai, it lacked the standard Thai punch that the culture is famous for. The Pad Thai was rather bland tasting. All in all this place is really marginal and priced for top quality. Unfortunately it's the only Thai game in town.

Very good meal and service. My Chicken Pad Thai and my husband's Shrimp and Vegetables were a bit too bland. More spice would have given a 5 star rating.

Nice place, quick service. But I had the broccoli beef lunch and it was pretty boring. Beef was cooked (boiled???) with no seasoning, gravy was sooo thin and flavorless. Hubby got Chicken Panang and it was tasty. Both lunches were fairly small servings. Even the bowl of soup and 1 appetizer were both a VERY SMALL PORTION! Don't go there if you are hungry. We won't be back.

I'm here for something spicy! Their menu has many choices spiced to your level of heat! The noodle dishes are excellent!

Pad Thai great. I asked for medium spicy and it was perfectly spiced. The Thai tea was very refreshing. The decor is nice with pillowed seating in areas. Service was pleasant, knowledgable and fast.

Nice atmosphere. The real flowers on the table are a nice touch. The spring rolls are fried crispy, not like traditional. They are very good though. Good pad Thai. The service was good.

The food and service is awesome! The owner from Thailand has created the ultimate authentic dining experience by bringing recipes from her family village. All ingredients are fresh and blend together nicely. I especially love the ginger sauce on any of the dishes like chicken, duck or mussels. I also think the salmon dish is outstanding! Prepared excellent with fresh vegetables and often with a pineapple curry sauce that makes you want to come back the next night for the same dish!!! In my opinion the best restaurant in The Villages...

My favorite take out joint in The Villages! Always good to go, when it is too crowded with all the snowbirds in town. Plenty of seating on the Square, if the weather is ok. Kevin Bell Retired In The Villages, FL (Lady Lake)

Great restaurant, nice decor and May is fantastic. In a region with very limited ethnic food this Thai restaurant is a saving grace from the same old burger and fries. Pad Thai is very good, appetizers are great and the fish dishes are healthy and tasty. Great choice for the villages!

We got a sampler apt. dish that was very underwhelming and they only had one beer (Tsingtao ) but the rest of the evening was special. The two friends chicken dish, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, a spicy squid dish - which was good but not spicy, and a beef dish in peanut sauce (which name escapes me right now but was moaningly good) were all exceptional. Not sure you can do better in the area. Kick up the weak rolls, wontons, rangoon, and others in the appetizer menu and you've got a gem.

This is the best of the best for fresh Thai food. The Crispy Duck w/ Green Curry, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Massaman and the Pineapple Fried Rice are our favorites. The owner and her staff are the best in the Villages.

I was visiting my parents in The Villages and we decided to drop in Thai Ruby for lunch one day. I don't think it is reasonable to expect to have the best and most authentic ethnic food experience in The Villages, but still I left somewhat unimpressed. The restaurant is located right near Lake Sumter on Canal Street. The atmosphere is very Chinese. Now it's probably fair to say that I don't know what an authentic Thai atmosphere would look like, however I doubt it would include wood paneled walls, gold Chinese letters on the wall, and Chinese music playing prominently in the background. And there are some really bizarre pillows on the booths at every table. The booths are small enough already - why are there pillows too? My guess is that the owners saw them once in a Chinese restaurant. We were served a complimentary chicken soup prior to the meal, which had little shredded bits of chicken at the bottom. I like soups quite a bit, and complimentary soups even more, but this version was without much flavor or character. Crumbled bits of chicken at the bottom in a watery broth. Not impressed. We ordered a crispy egg roll appetizer ($7) with a dipping sauce. The rolls were deep-fried, and the sauce was a little spicy, but overly sweet. Not very good and rather expensive. My choice was the chicken and rice with green curry. It was actually quite flavorful with a spicy coconut curry, bits of snap peas and peppers, and chunks of chicken. I enjoyed the dish. It was spiced perfectly and balanced well, however to nitpick, the amount of curry was too small for the rest of the dish and the portion size was on the meager side. It was pretty good, but not perfect. My sister ordered the chicken pad thai - which she seemed to enjoy. When I tasted it however, I noted the dish was totally lacking in acid. Good pad thai has a little bit of lime juice for some sharpness. This dish was fairly bland with a sickly sweet peanut sauce and very little heat. Maybe the locals like bland pad thai, I don't know, but I thought it was a poor version of the dish. You can get better pad thai at any Pei Wei location. I was beginning to be thoroughly disappointed with Thai Ruby, but at the end of the meal, they brought out some complimentary fried dough with icing. I would like to think that I can't be bribed, but lets face it...give 'em an extra star! However when the bill came and you face up the total worth of the meal - 30 bucks for one good dish and two bad ones (plus some fried dough!) - I don't think I'd come back. Surely there is better Thai food in this town somewhere?

Very good food, skimpy on the protein and overcompensating with giant raw veg. I like al dente veg, but not raw. Food was good.

Whenever I come down to the villages I always make it a point to stop here! I'm not a huge Thai food person but this place makes me crave it. I love their spring rolls, they always come out super hot and delicious! All the food is very clean and is prepared nicely. The decor is pleasant and I haven't had to wait for a table yet. Love it.

This my wife and I's favorite Thai food restaurant. We have tried a lot of different Thai food places in every city we go to and haven't found any where that compares yet. My wife and I almost always get the same dishes, Chicken Pad Thai and Panang Chicken, and it never gets old. We always ask for an extra plate and then push the dishes to the middle and share. We have had Pad Thai at places that could compare but not the Panang Chicken. The ambiance of the place is wonderful and seems very authentic It is a great place to bring a date. The service is also great. The waitresses all wear authentic Thai attire. It is our favorite place to eat in The Villages, FL. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would though because it used to be a little better. They used to give you a free appetizer and dessert with your meal that was really nice.

Had a lunch outing with the misses, and decided to give this place a shot, based on the positive reviews previously given. The complimentary appetizers (sweet cheese wonton and onion soup) were pretty good. For the entrées, we had two lunch specials; she had the pork wings and I had the duck. Service was very engaged, even with the slight language barrier. After the entrées, we were treated to a complimentary dessert (Thai donuts). These delectable treats were an awesome ending to a pleasing meal (warm and sweet, filled with flavor). We'll be making a return visit, to try other menu items.

Fairly unimaginitive, uninspired. Heck, even standard "safe" Thai food would be fine with me, but this place doesn't measure up. It's not bad.....mediocre is a better term. If you have no other choices, go for it. Service is good.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover Thai Ruby in The Villages! It was pretty good. The red chicken curry was delicious, and all the other dishes at other tables looked fresh and tasty. Only disappointments were that they did not offer varying heat levels (i.e. 1 to 5 stars), and the food came out within 2 minutes (not kidding), which was awesome because we were hungry, but it wasn't very warm.

Although this is a chain restaurant, this Villages addition to their chain is working out great for them and their patrons. A very warm and friendly atmosphere where you can have a quiet meal - a rare thing these days. A very convenient location in Sumter Landing. Their meals are mostly normal for their niche but always very good and very well presented. Service is extraordinarily good - they use a team approach where any and (often) all of the service people assist you during your meal. You never need to wait - they are always there to help! Soups are tasty and hot. Meals can be modified to be spicy, very spicy, Thai spicy or mild. A very highly recommended Villages restaurant!
